Freedom of Expression
Staying true to KS Studio Design’s signature layered neutrals, KS’s house is light and bright, and just the right amount of funky. Every room has material at its heart, always drawing your eye back to incredible sea views. “I wanted this house to feel custom to truly make my mark: grounded in tradition, elevated by personality and finished with those little unexpected touches that turn a house into a home”, shares KS. After all, this home is her laboratory, a place where she can experiment with ideas she might use later in a project or collection.
This isn’t your typical seaside house. It’s a true hideaway from the world. Perched to capture the horizon, you begin to feel the quiet contrast. The world in constant motion, while here, everything gently slows.
The villa enjoys breathtaking views of the Golfe Bleu.
The View Steals The Show
Step inside and the first thing you notice is the light—soft, abundant, shifting as the day unfolds. KS approached the project with a clear intention: the sea is the star. “I didn’t want to compete with the view —because honestly, you just can’t”, she laughs. Instead, she softened the interiors to let them breathe, to stay calm and open, allowing the outside to flow in.
Every detail carries a whisper of the Riviera: clean lines that feel effortless, sun-soaked spaces that invite you to linger, and natural textures that ground you in comfort. Simple lines bring warmth, while natural textures create comfort and connection. The colour palette was chosen to create a sense of permanence. The earthy tones layered with creams and soft neutrals perfectly echo the Mediterranean light that fills every room. “ You can combine pink with brown, rust and mustard, as these colours are from the earth palette and like a sunset, naturally blend”, KS says. This house is a rhythm, a way of life. It’s the kind of home that makes you slow down, breathe deeper, and leaves you quietly captivated by the sea.

Freedom From Perfection
How do you create a home that feels beautiful, but also lived in — where no one is worried about delicate finishes or shooing the dogs off the furniture? For KS, the answer is simple: neutral hues and durable natural materials. Everything is eye-pleasing, but nothing feels untouchable.
This house is designed for everyday life — for family and for every season. “Nothing in our home is too precious, and that’s exactly how I like it,” KS shares. Days unfold barefoot, with leaves from the garden scattered indoors, vegetables on the counter, and muddy pawprints from her two dogs. Her design embraces her family rhythm of life. It’s resilient, unpretentious, and rich with patina — nothing overly polished. It’s elevated, yes, but never off-limits — a home meant to be lived in, loved, and remembered.
Reclaimed wood really grounds the house. Antique pine served as the touchpoint for the floors, balanced by rose-coloured limestone in the entryway, in the kitchen and dining room and the baths. Structural elements such as beams and wood panelling were carefully sourced and finished by hand, allowing their natural imperfection and timeworn texture to become part of the home’s character.
The kitchen has been elevated with white Carrara marble countertops and half-height backsplash as a place to both prepare meal and to entertain. ” People always worry about marble staining, but you must let marble develop, patina, and become part of the story “, KS shares.

Paint It White
The number of sessions it took KS to pick the perfect shades of white ? Let’s just say…. a lot. But it’s always worth it in the end. “I was obsessed with finding the perfect shade of white and the challenge was choosing different types of white and having them all work together”, KS recalls. After testing several shades, she finally knew she’d found the one—the perfect white. Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore now wraps the entire home in a soft, warm glow, balancing the flood of natural light without feeling too yellow against the oak floors. It’s the kind of white that feels lived-in, calm, and endlessly welcoming—just right for a home where every corner is meant to be enjoyed.
The textured stucco on the fireplace wall brings a lot of warmth. ” What’s nice is when walls absorb and reflect light in different ways “, KS shares.
A large scale, French brutalist ironwork chandelier. In its original form to hold pillar candles, the piece has been electrified. “It was bought at the Puces in Paris on a rainy day ” she recalls. KS built all of her inspiration around this lantern. You can find the brown and white colours throughout the house.
Details That Speak Craftsmanship
When it came to furnishings, KS leaned toward streamlined, timeless pieces. Nothing here is trendy—and that’s exactly the point. The furnishings and the custom built-in furniture are clean, classical, and carefully chosen to let the architectural details shine. The home is a quiet whirlwind of textures—cashmere, wool, bouclé, linen,
sheepskin—layered to create depth and comfort.
“I’ve crafted my own furniture, layering understated tones, organic textures, and strong, simple forms. Each piece, each collected object, contributes to a quiet
elegance. The materials are simple, yes, but the result is full of nuance. It’s a home that holds the beauty of real life” she explains.
“I’ve always been captivated by the artistry and craftsmanship woven into truly exceptional pieces”, KS shares. Every piece in the home is made from authentic
materials, crafted in European ateliers where generations of skilled artisans havemastered their craft with care and pride. KS STUDIO DESIGN also worked closely
with local artists, vintage dealers, and craftspeople, curating a collection that celebrates natural beauty and timeless craftsmanship. Each object tells a story.
The living room mixes period elements with contemporary lines. The results of a constant effort by our founder, KS, to search out unique finds. The Last Layer
Making a home is an act of love. The best rooms aren’t finished. They’re practiced. The furniture is placed, the textile are layered, the art is leaning. That’s when the magic begins—the final ten percent, where the last touch creates the very first feeling.
“ I love layering objects, books, art and treasures ; everything that makes a space feel personal and lived-in ”, KS shares. Her approach has always been guided by a love of collecting. Pieces gathered from travels, from moments, from the paths of everyday life. Through thoughtful curation, she creates rooms that are inviting and quietly beautiful. She spends countless hours scouring flea markets, auctions and boutiques searching for furnishings that carry a sense of familiarity and patina. “I am addicted to auction websites ”, she admits with a laugh. “It is like a treasure hunt, searching for the refined, sophisticated, the hand-made, the crafted, the locally sources, the simple, the pared-back, the over-the-top, the pieces with staying power.”, KS shares.
